A true warrior fights with their body as their weapon, a katana, 'mech, or laser is only an extension of that weapon. To be fully effective, one must be one with thier weapon, because they are that weapon. That is why 'mech customization is very important, you must be fully at ease with your design. Each variant has their own feel, their own limits, and their own "personality" if you will.

If you make your own variant, you can fight much more effectively in a well made variant than a primary or a poorly made custom. Throughout history in the Inner Sphere this has been exceedingly difficult due to their types of 'mechs, however the Clans with our omnimechs can make field modifications and custom variats quite easily, and so we have the laboratory here to help keep track of them and to pool information.

Below are several categories, including BattleTech: The Board Game, NetMech, MercNet, Mech Commander and Mech3 (when it is released). As more BattleTech games become available corrosponding categories will be posted. If you have a design please enclose it into a zip file and send it to me, include a brief description of the design, and any notable battle history - many designs look good on paper to falter in the heat of combat.

Capabilities:

Galaxy Commander Chistu designed this as a command 'mech, capable of combat over any terrain in all circumstances. His first move was to make it a non-omnimech.

The right hand-actuator proved too difficult to work around with the twin arm-mounted PPCs, so his technician suggested not bothering with omnitech, not only making this design cheaper to produce but easier to maintain. This proved to be a wise move as Clan resources dwindled, and the primary configuration would not have many radical variants.

Besides the forementioned PPCs, the arm also mounts twin Medium Pulse Lasers to better aim while jetting. Both the head, center and left torsos contain an ER Medium Laser, the right torso containing two, bringing the total to five. Also mounted on the left torso is an ECM pod.

Each leg contains a jet - along with the center torso - and an ER Small Laser, which is easily interchangable to an Anti-Personnel Pod should the requirement arise.

The most devastating aspect of this variant is the left arm, mounting an Ultra Autocannon 20 with two tons of ammunition. This arm is partially modular, so much so in fact with a couple hour's notice, Davies' tech can replace it completely with a Gauss Rifle, also downgrading two ER Medium Lasers to four additional Smalls or an additional heat sink.

Battle History:

Currently, this variant has not seen action.
