BattleMech Specs

Bane - 100t (Omnimech Kraken)
The Bane represents the heaviest dsign of the new Clan 'Mechs and appears to be an intermediate stage between the old Star League 'Mechs and the current generation of OmniMechs. The primary weapons are moutned in the arms, with the ammunition supply stored in the left and right torsos, which are equipped with CASE. Because the 'Mech carries an XL fusion engine, an ammunition explosion in a torso location will do considerabe damage to the machine. The designers attempted to reduce the cumulative recoil effects of firing multiple autocannons by incorporating a complex baffle and pressure counterflow system, which vents exhaust gasses in such a way as to actually increase the 'Mech's stability when firing, into each arm. They also took care of the problem of main-frame strain with an ingenious arm-linkage design. So far, this 'Mech appears only in small numbers on Jade Falcon-held worlds. However, so many variants exist that we surmise they are eithier short-run prototypes or are being customized for reasons known only to the Clan Jade Falcon Khans. The most common variant of the Bane is armed with multiple Ultra-2 autocannons in each arm,. A pilot attacking with this configuration can efficiently spread the damage across the weak spots of any target. Two other variants of this 'Mech serve Clan Jade Falcon. The first replaces each arm's multiple Ultra -2 autocannons with two Ultra-10 autocannons. A staggering seven tons of ammunition for each arm provides seventy rounds for each pair of guns, an impressive number of shots even at double rate. The second variant of the Bane, a missile-support 'Mech, replaces the Ultra autocannon with four LRM-15 launchers in each arm and adds another ten heat sinks. Eight tons of ammunition supply a total of 64 rounds to the four launch systems, more than adequate materiel for most fire-support missions.

Dire Wolf - 100t (Omnimech Daishi)
The Dire Wolf features an LRM-10 rack on the left shoulder. Each arm consists of a bundle of death, namely an Ultra-5 Autocannon, two large lasers and two medium pulse lasers. Seven double strength heat sinks are mounted in the torso of this 'Mech to deal with some of the heat buildup.

Kodiak - 100t
Though never observed in action, certain assumptions about the Kodiak's performance can be made based solely on its weapon load. A devastating Ultra-20 autocannon occupies the entire right side of its torso. Opposite the autocannon is a pair of Streak SRM-6 launchers. Combined, these weapons provide ample close-in firepower but lack the ammunition to fight an extended battle. Designers probably disregarded this factor since the 'Mech is intended for garrison use close to supply lines. Above each hand is a claw-like array of four extended-range medium lasers, giving the Kodiak impressive hitting power even if it runs completely out of ammunition. Supplementing these weapons is a single ER large laser mounted in the torso directly beneath the engine. Likely added as an afterthought, this weapon gives the 'Mech a single shot at long range, but generates too much heat to be used once the enemy closes in.

Stone Rhino - 100t (Omnimech Behemoth)
The Stone Rhino weighs in at a massive 100 tons, comparable to the largest 'Mechs ever manufactured. While such machines bring awesome firepower to the battlefield, ultimately, commanders cannot use them effecitvely because they cannot afford to lose one. The Stone Rhino features twin Gauss cannons, a large pulse laser mounted in each arm and an almost superfluous small pulse laser. The arm-mounted weapons feature retractable shock-absorbing cowls covering the barrels which allow the pilot to use the arms as battering rams without damaging the delicate laser assemblies.

Executioner - 95t (Omnimech Gladiator)
Most Clan MechWarriors who pilot Executionres choose the exceptional firepower of the Gauss. It combines with the pair of large lasers to deliver harsh punishment to opposing 'Mechs. For extended missions where ammunition might become a factor, the Clans normally outfit the Executioner with three large pulse lasers in the left arm and four extended-reange medium lasers in the right. The Executioner's 14 double heat sinks allow it to use this array of lasers and still keep its heat under control. Somewhat similar in performance to the standard version is model B, which carries the huge Ultra-20 Autocannon in the left arm and an extended --range particle projection annon in the right. A small laser and anti-missile system round out its weaponry. The fire-support version of the Executioner is relatively uncommon. Its most distinguishing feature is the enhanced targetting for all its weapons systems. A highly unusual design for hte Executioner has also been spotted on PInnacle. It features a stack of two SRM-6 launchers affixed to its left arm, The right arm is a large triangulapod with a large pulse laser at the top, a row of three medium pulse lasers below it, and a row of five small pulse lasers at the bottom. This configuaration has no hand, of course, and also requires the removal of the lower arm actuator. This strong, agile base Chassis is the 'Mech of choice for Clan Ghost Bear.

Marauder IIC - 85t
The Marauder IIC carries the weaponry layout typical of the standard Marauder. The forearms each contain extended range PPC's paired with medium pulse lasers. This set-up is familiar as the configuration of the Warhammer, which drops hand actuators to ease maintenance and create a more compact design. The top torso-mounted weapon on this version is another extended-range PPC, thus avoiding a vulnerable ammunition-feed linkage needed for a projectile weapon.

Warhawk - 85t (Omnimech Massakari)
The Warhawk, with its paired PPCs in the arms and a potent long-range missile launcher can destroy smaller 'Mechs with a single blast with the help of the enhanced accuracy of its targeting computer. Easily identified by its squat torso, jutting head, and broad chest, the Warhawk quickly became notorious to Inner Sphere MechWarriors for its firepower and accuracy. Because it is an assault-class 'Mech, the honor of piloting a Warhawk is reserved for only the most skilled, elite Clan pilots. Often disparagingly referred to as the "apartment building that walks like a man", the Warhawk is nevertheless feared for its ability to utterly incinerate smaller 'Mechs with a single alpha-strike.

Gargoyle - 80t (Omnimech Man'o'War)
With almost all of its firepower in its arm weapons pods, the Gargoyle is a vrsatile design. The most common combination of weapons includes an LB-5 X Autocannon and SRM-6 launcher on each arm and a small laser in the center torso. A model that carries a double particle projection cannon in the right arm and a triangle of lasers in the left is almost as frequently see. A large pulse laser sits above the two medium pulse lasers along with a small laser.

Naga - 80t
The Naga was developed to deliver a sustained barrage of artillery missiles. The OmniMech's standard configuration best fulfills this mission by carrying six tones of missiles, assuring that it will be able to support its Cluster mates through all but the longest battle. However, the standard configuration Naga is the most defenseless in a short-range battle, with only three small lasers to ward off any enemy that manages to come close.

Warhammer IIC - 80t
The Warhammer was originally designed as an assault 'Mech and, even though it was later eclipsed by heavier 'Mechs, it can still live up to its reputation as one of the most powerful weapon platforms at a commander's disposal. The Warhammer has a winning combinatino of speed and firepower that has secured its position in every arsenal. Its strong frame allows many common modifications to be made without losing fighting capability. THrough our technological expertise, we have transformed the Warhammer into a true assault 'Mech; and managed to add ten tons of weight and also retain its speed and fire-power. The result of such design expertise is a very powerful and dangerous 'Mech capable of holding its own on any battlefield.

Timber Wolf - 75t (Omnimech Mad Cat)
The Timber Wolf was the first OmniMech to appear in the Inner Sphere. Though bearing a superficial resemblance to the Inner Sphere Catapult and Marauder, which is how it acquired its Inner Sphere designation, its advanced technology and superior weaponry put an end to any comparisons. Capable of laying down a punishing barrage of weapons fire at any range, the Timber Wolf has become all but synonymous with the Clans and their assault against the Inner Sphere.  The Timber Wolf displays impressive fire-power, starting with double LRM-20 racks on the shoulders, and weapons pods on each arm containing an extended-range large laser and an extended-range medium laser. The Timber Wolf also incorporates pulse technology with a medium pulse laser on the right side of the torso, and a dual machine gun system to round out its weaponry.

Grizzly - 70t
The Grizzly is used by PGC commanders for roles that other Clans would fill with Summoners and Hellbringers. The 'Mech's heavier armor and standard engine give it a much higher survival rate, which is fortunate because it is difficult to repair. The Grizzly has layers of sloped armor that tend to lodge in place when damaged, and its bulky leg actuators are unique and hard to obtain. The Grizzly moutns a deadly array of weapons, featuring a massive Gauss rifle in the right arm. THe 'Mech's left arm sports a trio of pulse lasers similar to, but smaller than, the array featuredin Configuration D of the Executioner. The 'Mech's long-range firepower is supplemented by a ten-pack of long-range missiles in the right torso.

Summoner - 70t (Omnimech Thor)
The huge summoner, standing at least a meter taller than most other 'Mechs, appears most often in a configuration that is remarkable considering its lack of laser weaponry. Its mix of weapons complements this 'Mechs maneuverability to make it a deadly foe. This model carries a long-range missile launcher on its elft shoulder, a PPC in one hand, and a heavy autocannon in the other. The summoner's main advantages over other heavy designs are its mobility and its devastating short and medium-range capability. This is true in virtually all configurations; though the summoner may be less powerful than some designs and less quick than others, it is a successful blend of firepower and mobility.

Hellbringer - 65t (Omnimech Loki)
Recognized by its missile rack on one shoulder, the hellbringer is one of the Clans' most easily recognizable shapes. Dubbed the "Loki" by the Federated Commonwealth Armed Forces, the 'Mechs' combination of weapons may often appear to be utterly mad, however not a single Inner Sphere 'Mech could stand up to the hellbringer when it first appeared with the Clans. The hellbringer is an electronic marvel. Its blend of weapons systems is a sound combination of ammo efficiency and anti-'Mech capabilities. The only problem with this design is that it cannot handle the massive amounts of heat generated by its mixture of systems. Warriors must be caustious in their choice of targets so that cockpit heat levels do not rise too high.

Linebacker - 65t
The Linebacker's increased speed means it carries less armament, but those weapoins it does carry, along with its speed, make it a formidable foe on the battlefield. In its standard configuration, the Linebacker punishes threats from a distance. Enemies that do not succomb to its energy weapons or run away from its missile mbrarrage are taken care of by its heavier compatriots.

Rifleman IIC - 65t
Visually, the Rifleman looks nothing like the traditional outline that would be recognizable on the battlefield. Like its smaller brother, it mounts a large rotating radar array over its head, but the IIC variant's radar system is mounted much higher with the twin box-like appendages fitted on either side of the central support pylon. Close analysis of this 'Mech in aciton on battlefield vids revealed that this unusual configuration includes a phased radar array that acts in tandem with the main array. The Rifleman IIC serves as an anti-aircraft BattleMech, with a design that clearly implies a more conservative approach than others. By using a larger 260-rated engine, it retains the expected performance envelope of a standard Rifleman. This model's ferro-fibrous armor was eliminated, forcing the 'Mechs to carry two moretons of armor for effective cover. This variant of the Rifleman carries four ultra AC/2s, two in each arm, equipped with 135 rounds of ammunition for each pair stored in the adjacent torso sections. While it lacks the firepower of the standard vesion, this variant is a formidable weapons platform with ample ammunition to fulfill the anti-aricraft mission.

Mad Dog - 60t (Omnimech Vulture)
The Mad Dog serves mostly as a fire-support 'Mech. Many MechWarriors have remarked about the foreboding feeling they sensed before looking up to see a Mad Dog perched on a ridge, firing missiles at the raging battle below, just waiting for its victims to die before swooping down for the carrion. The Mad Dog serves mostly as a fire-support 'Mech. The twin racks of 20 long-range missiles can certainly hasten along the enemy's death. Shuld the Mad Dog injure an enemy at long range, it cna take fate into its own hands, or arms in this case, and use its laser weapons to finish off its foe.

Storm Crow - 55t (Omnimech Ryoken)
The Inner SPhere was totally unprepared for a 'Mech equipped with double-barreled lasers on each arm and the heat sinks that allow the pilot to use them. The configuration of the Storm Crow could devastate a foe in moments. The speed and firepower of this version of the Storm Crow commands the respect of any military foe.

Nova - 50t (Omnimech Black Hawk)
The nova has an unusual appearance and fearsome capabilities. Each hexagonal weapons pod on each arm boasts six medium lasers that provide exceptional firepower, but generate too much heat for sustained firing. The nova mounts four additional double heat sinks to allow the pilot more freedom to use his weapons; nevertheless, a pilot who fires all 12 lasers in one salvo risks immediate shutdown.

Jenner IIC - 35t
The Jenner IIC's speed has been exploited to make it one of the fastest and most maneuverable 'Mechs in existance. Designers have reinforced its center torso and leg armor for icnreased survivability, and its powerful jump jets give it an incredible 240-meter jump capability.

Incubus - 30t (Omnimech Vixen)
The Incubus is the lightest of five designs never before seen within the Clans. These new designs are not OmniMechs, sharing none of the features that go into the Clan front-line battleMechs, but if they ahve a specific battle function, it is still unclear.   As small number of  Incubuses have been seen in Jade Falcon garrisons, but nowhere else. This light 'Mech is very impressive, somehow managing to look aggressive despite its weight, a definate psychological advantage for the pilot. The arm-mounted primary weapon is supported by over-theshoulder lasers, making the Incubus a threat at any range. Multiple machine guns and exceptional maneuverability make it a potent anti-infantry 'Mech as well. The Incubus' primary weapon system is arm-moutned and therefore semi-modular. Techs can change weaponry quickly using minimal resources, allowing uncomplicated and convenient field modifications. This structure has long been recognized as one of the strengths of Inner Sphere 'Mechs such as the BattleMaster and Wolverine, and leads to countless undocumented "field variations." One common Incubus simply upgrades the primary weapon from a large pulse laser to an extended range PPC. This configuration's disadvantage is that the 'Mech runs hot in combat   if all the weapons are fired simultaneously. A second major variant mounts a Streak SRM-6 launcher. This lighter weapon allows 'Mechs to exchange the extended range medium laser moutned in the tors osection for medium pulse lasers. This arrangement creates a very potent medium-range weapons platform.

Kit Fox - 30t (Omnimech Uller)
The Kit Fox, designated the "Uller" by Inner Sphere forces, after the Norse god of archery, is an exceptionally versatile ligh t'Mech. In its primary configuration, the Kit Fox carries an excellent mix of weapons, giving it striking power at all ranges and avoiding problems associated with reliance on a single system. With reasonably good speed and armor, this design can hold its own against even many medium 'Mechs of the Inner Sphere. The Kit Fox's configuration is equipped with four of the most advanced weapons available. Its main firepower comes from the LB-5X Autocannon in its right arm and the extended-range large laser in its left. A small pulse laser and a streak SRM-4 add to the Kit Fox's punch at close range. This marvel of design keeps heat buildup in check, economizes on missile loads to avoid running out of ammunition and provides sting at varying ranges.

Firemoth - 20t (Omnimech Dasher)
The Firemoth's primary configuration can give a good account of itself against any light 'Mech. Its exceptional speed allows it to confront its enemy at close range and use its short-range missiles and medium lasers effectively regardless of its opponent's actions. When facing a larger enemy, the Firemoth simply retreats to friendly lines, leaving its foe far behind. Another popular tactic mastered by the Firemoth includes racing to the enemy's rear and cutting down opposing 'Mechs before they can respond.

Howler - 20t (Omnimech Baboon)
The Howler is a light BattleMech seen only on worlds occupied by the Jade Falcon Clan. No other Clan has been seen using this 'Mech. While other Clans garrison their newly captured territories with variants of old Star League designs, the Jade Falcons assign a large proportion of new 'Mechs to their second-line units. The Howler 's long forearms give the 'Mech an ungainly look, but its speed makes it an excellent fast reconnaissance unit. The pilots of most light 'Mechs must bring their machine in close to strike, the Howler pilot can keep his distance because the 'Mech is fitted with superb LRM launcehrs, which have a flexible strike envelope unparallelled within the Inner Sphere, A searchlight system gives the Howler superior night-combat abilities, and its flexible torso structure allows the 'Mech to hunch down and reduce the size of its profile for covert missions. Light BattleMechs filling a reconnaissance role usually offer limited strike capability. Their small size prevents them from carrying the armor needed to stay in the thick of action for any length of time. A commander using fast, light 'Mechs to punch into an enemy formation soon discovers his force's offensive capability degrading quickly. However, Clan Jade Falcon holds back these durable 'Mechs for use as reinforcements. Our analysts suspect that the Howler will cause trouble for the Inner Sphere in future battles by turning apparently certain victory to disaster at the last moment.
